Jubail Industrial College (JIC) of the Royal commission in Jubail signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) which includes strengthening cooperation in academic, scientific, research, training, cultural, development fields, joint projects and coordination in order to discover practical and field training opportunities for JIC students.
The MOU included the approval of the training programs provided and certificates conferred by the College in the field of safety, fire prevention and other discipline fields in addition to the cooperation between the two parties to find out a mechanism for the approval of certificates granted to trainees by the college and members registered with the Authority.
In this context, the Managing Director of Jubail Industrial College, Dr. Eid bin Mohammed al-Hajri, said that "this cooperation is an essential foundation for building the bonds of mutual cooperation in various scientific, training and applied research. This cooperation is considered as an opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge and development of future programs between the two establishments, he added that the college seeks to strengthen the frameworks of cooperation and joint action with the companies in all sectors, including the construction and contractors sector to contribute to achieve the objectives of the vision 2030, which will contribute to increase the opportunities of scientific exchange in all fields in favor of the development of its educational and cultural services and to improve the quality of its scientific outputs. D. al-Hajri stressed the keenness of the management of the college to graduate generations of creative and innovators in various fields. The college seeks through this cooperation to find a partnership with entities related to the field of contracting to provide appropriate programs to provide the different sectors with qualified manpower.
The Saudi Contractors Authority is coordinating with the relevant sectors on an annual basis to provide field training opportunities for the JIC students according to the available disciplines commensurate with the need of the contractors sector. The training opportunities granted to the trainee students and in their field of specialization and contribute to the acquisition of the necessary expertise in their field of specialization where the duration of the training is fifteen weeks full time for the student in one of the training entity provided by the Authority so that the training should start after the end of the semester at a date agreed by the college and the training entity.
It’s worth mentioning that the signing of this MOU took place on the side-lines of the Saudi Future Projects Forum which was held in Riyadh under the patronage of HH Prince Faisal Bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Riyadh Province.
