The Social Services Department’s Cultural Sport Committee of the Royal Commission , in the presence of a number of officials, signed an agreement with Sustainability Brand Company to establish a Social Responsibility Center, last Tuesday night, at the Visitors Center. Khalid A. Al-Shammari, Director of Social Services Department, represented the Royal Commission and Mr. Abdul Majid Radwan, the CEO of the Company, signed on behalf of Sustainability Brand company .
Al-Shammari pointed out that the Center shall be specialized in preparing national standards to encourage the companies to achieve the highest level of responsibility and citizenship. The Center will work professionally to meet the Royal Commission’s ambitions in the supervision, implementation and planning of the social responsibility programs and the gaining of international and local experiences to be reflected on the community of Jubail. Al-Shammari said that the Social Responsibility is a partnership between the private sector the various community institutions to achieve sustainable development in the educational, health, economic and environmental fields.
Mr. Abdul Majid Radwan, CEO of Sustainability Brand Company, said: "The objective of the agreement is to establish a Social Responsibility Center in Jubail, which is considered a paradigm shift in private sector development, social participation and natural resources conservation.
Al-Radwan praised the great role played by the Royal Commission in the community contribution and the professional conduct with its employees leading to the organization and development of the community responsibility, besides launching of a Saudi index for social responsibility and a qualitative shift in the social responsibility path in the Kingdom and the Gulf.
The Center's work plan is based on four paths. The first path is establishment through signing of necessary agreements with expert firms. The second path is sustainability reports, by which the Center will develop specific criteria and indices to achieve and to conform with the National Vision, in line with the international vision and the International Conventions. The third is the Royal Commission's competitive award with precise and scientific standards through which the Center seeks to highlight the best successful experiences in serving community.
The fourth path is the Corporate Social Responsibility CSR platform; an interactive management knowledge platform for the Royal Commission in the field of social responsibility to facilitate the work of their teams to manage the work professionally.
