The Royal Commission in Jubail represented by the Environmental Protection and Control Department, has increased the number of fixed stations to 10 by adding three new stations to monitor air quality and weather conditions, stationed in jalmudah District, industrial Port, and Al-Huwaylat District .
The ten fixed stations are operating around the clock to collect samples from air every five minutes which are analyzed and sent to a central computer room at Headquarters, in addition to two mobile stations for emergency cases. Construction of such stations aims to expand environmental surveillance area for the city to obtain more accurate and comprehensive indicators.
The Royal Commission also began applying the emissions direct control system from the source after being listed within 2015 the Royal Commission environmental standards where sensors shall be installed on all smokestacks of factories operating in the city to collect data instantaneously and sent them directly to the control room, Department of Environmental Protection and Control, to complete the cycle of environmental conservation by dedicating all efforts and capabilities to realize consistence between the environment and the industry.
This springs from RC's ambition to preserve the environment and maintain public health in Jubail Industrial City in line with the industrial and residential expansion of the City.
