A Bahraini Investment Delegation Visits Ras Al Khair Industrial City
 
 
The Royal Commission in Jubail received an investment delegation from Bahrain to visit Ras Al Khair Industrial City (RIC) and to be acquainted with the existing investments and available opportunities in theindustrial, development and service domains . The program included a tour in the city and a visit to Ras Al Khair Industrial port, Maaden Phosphate Company and Maaden Aluminum Company.
 
The delegation met with number of the RC’s officials of the Strategic Planning and Investment Development Sector in Jubail who answered the investors’ questions and queries in relation to  investment opportunities in Ras Al Khair Industrial city.
The delegation also met with the officials of Maaden Phosphate and Maaden Aluminum companies where they watched a presentation about the two companies, their products and the expansion projects planned by Maaden Company in Ras Al Khair industrial City.
 
On his part, Mr. Abdul Hakeem E. Al-Shamrie, head of the Bahraini delegation and Vice-Chairman of Saudi Bahraini Business Council, considered the visit successful by all means. Furthermore, Mr. Abdul Hakeem added that this visit was an opportunity for the delegation to be acquainted with the progress made in the industrial development in KSA. He was quoted as saying that this industry is a pride for all of us and the delegation shall study the existing industrial investment opportunities in RIC as it shall circulate the information to all members of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). This visit is one of those planned under the Saudi Bahraini Business Council with a view  to developing cooperation and joint industrial and business exchange.
 
On the other hand, Eng. Abdullah Y. Al-Eid, the Director of Cluster Support Department of RCJ said that we were delighted by the brotherly Bahraini investment delegation’s visit as it was positive according to their impression. Moreover, we shall look forward to seeing Bahraini investments in RIC and we hope to see more collaboration and investment exchange between the two parties in various fields.  Furthermore, Eng. Abdullah emphasized that there are many available investment opportunities in RIC, especially in the downstream industries associated with different mining industries and in other industries and services.
This visit came as a part of the ongoing collaboration between RCJ and the Eastern Province Chamber  of Commerce  & Industry in coordinating and arranging such visits to  both Jubail Industrial city and Ras Al Khair Industrial City.
 
Ras Al Khair Industrial City ( RIC ) is located approximately 80 kilometers north of Jubail Industrial City, on the East Coast. It currently incorporates  Maadan phosphate company, Maadan company and RIC port which is used to export industrial companies products. These are supported by a water desalination and power plant which is considered the largest one worldwide with a production capacity of more than one million cubic meters of desalinated water. The city is also connected to Maadan special mines to transporting the raw material by the Saudi Railways Company.
 
It is hoped that this city shall be the biggest integrated mining industrial complex of its kind worldwide that incorporates all main facilities for mining industries in one area and exports it to the world and local markets.
 
After the RC for Jubail and Yanbu’s enormous success in constructing, managing and operating Jubail and Yanbu industrial cities, the Council of Ministers promulgated the Royal Decision No. 355 dated 30/10/1430 H, empowering the RC for Jubail and Yanbu to manage RIC and to provide services for mining industries and other industries on the pattern of Jubail and Yanbu industrial cities and to benefit from RC’s achievements, the valuable lessons learned from gained real experiences and through the application of best practices in terms of expertise, procedures, know-how and administrative experiences which lasted for more than 40 years in planning, constructing and managing industrial cities according to the highest global standards.
