Dr. Eid bin Mohammed Al Hajri, director of Jubail Industrial College of the Royal Commission confirmed that the aim of the center is to find local experiences to support the industry and provide innovative solutions to the most important challenges that faced by the sector, rather than search for it from outside the Kingdom .Moreover, the young Saudis have the competence and capacity to be at this level as there some of the college students got patents in many areas of research.
Al-Hajri said the center also aims at achieving self-sufficiency by providing solutions for the industry. Therefore, the nature of the center’s partnership with the German companies are not advisory but joint work and shared information and works to improve the current processes for companies and help entrepreneurs and Saudis graduates to start their own companies to contribute for the growth of small and medium companies .
Al-Hajri's remarks came during the workshops associated to the inauguration of Jubail Industrial College for Jubail Center for Researches, Innovation and Industrial Integration in cooperation with the Munich University of Technology and the two companies ( Bavaria Insite and VDI\ VDE-IT) Marine Club in Jubail industrial city.
The workshop began on Wednesday in the Marine Club in Jubail industrial city in inauguration works of the Centre by General Manager of Colleges and institutes of the Royal Commission in Jubail Dr. Ali Bin Hassan Aseeri. The first workshop was entitled "Development and Management of Industrial Integration" and presented by Danial Couched from the University of Munich where he touched on the definition of industrial integration, and provided services from European Integration Centers and examples stories of success of European centers in addition to the services that can be provided by the Jubail Center for Researches, Innovation and industrial integration.
Then, the workshops completed on the following day workshop talked about the contribution of small and medium companies in the growth of the Saudi economy and was attended by Mohammed'Azzaz director of the Development of Chemical and Manufacturing Industries at Sadara company, Oliver Oohemz Commissioner of Commerce and Industry of Germany to the KSA Kingdom, Bahrain, Yemen and Loic Jnaqbrj agent for director international Bayer .
After that, the workshop discussed multiple topics focusing on the importance of small and medium companies, and small and medium companies in Jubail, and connecting small and medium Saudi companies with European companies, as well as services that can be provided by Jubail Center for Researches and Innovation and Industrial Integration in this filed .
Then, the workshop was followed by a discussion between representatives of the industry and the technology sector in Germany and the kingdom for the development of cooperation in the field of applied researches between industry and education, via the fields of scientific research in Jubail Center for Researches and Innovation and Industrial Integration, and to identify the problems and challenges facing the Saudi industries. Moreover, the workshop discussed means of cooperation with Europeans developers, in addition the contribution to the center in the development of researches .On the margins of the center’s works a cooperation agreement was signed between Jubail Industrial College and ABB company
