the Social Services Dept. Royal Commission in Jubail organized on Thursday 11/11/1438 (3/8/2017) Crafts and Hand Craft Forum at Al-Fanateer Cultural Center in Jubail Industrial City.
The Forum aims to contribute to the national efforts to achieve a sustainable development in the craft and handcraft sector, support individuals and entities working in the field, transfer their experiences and skills to the emerging generations, and raise the community awareness of the cultural, historic and economic importance of crafts sector.

Director in RCJ, said that the idea of the forum came from the keenness of our rational government and its attempts to develop the crafts and handcrafts since it’s considered a national and historical heritage as well as a national identity. The forum also came in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030 that states: “we are proud of our Islamic, Arabic and Saudi historic cultural heritage, and recognize the importance of reserving it”, and with the Royal Commission’s belief in the importance of crafts and handcrafts and their meaning as a national identity, historical dimension and economic benefit.
Alshamari added that the forum shall include a number of functions and corners, such as: crafts market, garages that changed the world, young craftsmen, craft arts, craft workshops, puzzles world, FabLab Jubail, and Wud earthenware exhibition.
The organizing committee announced earlier that chances are open for those who wish to participate from craftsmen, associations and agencies interested in crafts and handcraft, where elite of artisans from different regions in the kingdom shall participate in the festival together with many associations.
