Within the social responsibility initiatives, and with distinguished social partnership between the Royal Commission in Jubail and the Saudi Investment Bank, Sports Cultural Committee of the Social Services Department of the Royal Commission and the Saudi Investment Bank entered into a cooperation agreement to install and operate FlexBike stations at a number of public locations in Jubail Industrial City. The agreement was signed by RC’s Social Services Department’s Director, Mr. Khaled Al Shammari, and by the Saudi Investment Bank’s Eastern Region General Manager, Mr. Jamal Al Zukair.
The Initiative aims to motivate Jubail Industrial City’s residents and visitors to ride bicycles at the designated public places due to its positive effect on the individual and community’s health. The agreement stipulates that the bank shall install, operate and maintain a number of bicycle stations through specialized companies to facilitate easy use.
The Bank’s Regional General Manager, Mr. Al Zukiar, assured that the bikes shall be as per the best international specifications and standards, fitted with all safety components, appropriate for the kingdom’s weather conditions and environment-friendly as these stations shall be powered by solar energy.
Mr. Khaled Al Shammari, Director of the Social Services Department and vice-president of the Sports Cultural Committee said that the RC is always keen to provide a supportive environment for initiatives that serve the community, diversify activities that meet the needs of the community. This cooperative initiative aims to encourage exercising in general and bicycling in particular in a safe environment and as per a system adhered to by all.
