Industrial Companies Compete to Win the Royal Commission's Award for Best Environmental Performance
 
​Under  the slogan "Overcoming Plastic Pollution" on Tuesday, 5 June 2018 at the Sea Club in Jubail Industrial City, the activity of World Environment Day, organized by RC in Jubail represented by Environmental  Protection  and Control Department, has taken place. The event is celebrated every year on the fifth of June and will include the handover of the RC's Environmental Awards for companies with the best environmental performance for the year 2017.
The World Environmental Day logo adopted by the United Nations Environment Program this year aims to urge people to work together to confront one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time and to consider how we can make changes in our daily lives to reduce the heavy burden of plastic pollution on the planet.

The environmental criteria  of the awards  include the best environmental performance, the compliance with RC environmental regulations, the extent of cooperation in solving environmental problems related to company, the swiftness of response to specific questions and environmental issues according to the Environmental Monitoring Program of the Royal Commission and the initiative to introduce modern solutions and techniques to reduce environmental problems.
It’s worth mentioning that the RC's Environmental Performance Award was approved in 2006 was limited to the Primary Industries Companies that have spent five years of operation. However, In 2007, the Secondary Industries Companies were added.
