Jubail Governor Abdullah Al Askar visited last Thursday, (27/5/1438 AH) 24/2/2017 G , the Industrial Development Centre at the Jubail Technical Institute of Royal Commission in Jubail, where he was briefed about a number of industrial projects incubated at the center. He was received by Dr. Ali al-Aseeri , the General Manager of colleges and institutes Sector of the Royal Commission in Jubail and a number of the center officials and the stockholders. The governor watched, a documentary and a presentation on the achievements of the center and the projects it supported since its establishment.
The presentation was given by Abdulaziz Al-Zahrani the center's manager. Mr. Al Zahrani pointed out that the Industrial Development Centre in Jubail is the first center in the Kingdom that provides industrial equipped workshops to serve the entrepreneurs to reduce the operational cost for the owners of promising industrial ideas.
He added that the center includes a female section to incubate female projects in different areas. He also said that the center was established on 28 /2/ 2011G by the decision of His Highness Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
Mr. Al Zahrani said that the goals the center seeks to achieve for entrepreneurs include helping young Saudis to set up their own businesses , creating new and permanent jobs in the market and assisting transforming pioneers projects ideas into tangible products. This is besides providing financial support, coordinating with supporting entities and creating the right climate for start-ups and taking care for small and medium- enterprises. Additionally, the center provides technical assistance suitable to the type of the incubated project. Finally, it connects emerging organizations or small businesses with the industrial and commercial sectors locally and may be in the advanced industrial countries.
The center offers water and electricity services to entrepreneurs free of charge in addition to legal and financial consulting services during the incubation period.
After the presentation, the governor toured the existing projects at the male and female sections and talked with entrepreneurs and got acquainted with the nature of their projects and future goals.
At the end of the tour the governor expressed his admiration for the achievements of the center and the incubated the projects, stressing that among the most important goals of the national transformation program 2020 is to support small and medium enterprises and build a local economy based largely on these projects.
