The Royal Commission in Jubail, represented by Jubail Industrial College, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Association of Safety & Fire on Monday 28/8/1439 H. The agreement included the initiation of coordination between the College and the SASF to promote mutual cooperation in the field of training and consulting.
The Saudi Association of Safety & Fire targets to develop the skills of firefighters, rescue, and safety personnel, to conduct scientific research and applied studies in this field in order to exchange experiences with local and international parties, provide assistance and consultations to various bodies, and follow up to deliver modern technologies in the field of fire and safety to the community to contribute in positioning the foundations of volunteering in the field of firefighting and safety as well as raising awareness about the dangers of fire and accidents.
The agreement included the training of 298 safety officers from cCivil Defense personnel and all those who shall join the pre-qualified engineering offices by the Directorate General of Civil Defense, in addition to training safety officials for the employees of Ministry of Education.
It’s planned to launch a SASF branch, in the future, inside the college campus and a member of the association shall be nominated as the chair of the branch; as the College is the sole body that provides training for the Saudi Association of Safety & Fire for a 10-year term as per the agreement.
within the frame of the Memorandum of Understanding, the programs offered by the JIC shall be accredited. The accreditation committee members shall be from , Jubail Industrial College, the Saudi Organization for Engineers and theHigh Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS)., the laboratories and facilities established by the College represented by the Safety and Fire Safety Training Center shall be approved by the Saudi Quality, Specifications and Standards.
The Saudi Association of Safety & Fire rely on the classification, development and sponsorship of institutions and cadres active in the field of safety and firefightingto develop standards for safety and fire prevention.
