the medical team at the Royal Commission Hospital succeeded to remove 30 uterine fibroids from the womb of a Saudi 30-year-old woman while maintain womb intact. Consultant Dr. Abdulrahman bin Wael Alyahya, the head of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department in the Health Services Program of the Royal Commission in Jubail lead the team during the surgery.
The woman's case was diagnosed at 4 different hospitals inside and outside the kingdom and they all recommend excision of the uterus (hysterectomy).
Dr. Abdulrahman bin Wael Alyahya, the head of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of the Health Services Program of Royal commission in Jubail said that the patient checked by the Royal Commission Hospital early in 2017 where she was suffering from bleeding for 3 weeks. The examination showed that she had multi fibroids inside the uterus reaching to the diaphragm in the bottom of the rib cage and she needs a surgery to remove them. The patient with the assurance to maintain the womb safe so she accepted the decision of medical team.
He added that thanks to Allah the surgery succeed and the patient was discharged in a very good condition and she can get married and have children.
