The Property Department obliged Juice shops, restaurants and cafeterias to place a signboard on a prominent area displaying the type of fruit used (whether frozen or fresh) as well as a number of new regulations to ensure consumer health.
The regulation applies to more than 80 shops, restaurants, cafeterias operate in Jubail and Ras ALKhair Industrial Cities. This business activity is becoming popular and witness a remarkable demand for various forms of products that may contain fruit pieces or be mixed with ice cream.
The regulations provide for the following requirements:
1- Place a signboard on a prominent area displaying the types of fruit used in juices (fresh or frozen) and their ingredients.
2- Prohibit the use of food additive and food coloring.
3- Prohibit the use of energy drinks and dietary supplements without consumer knowledge.
4- Disclosure of all ingredients of juice mixtures of all kinds.
The new regulations seek to continue making Jubail Industrial city distinguished in maintaining a food poisoning zero record to achieve the principle of transparency, and to enable the consumers to be aware of the product ingredients, taking into account protecting consumers from health risks and cheat cases.
