Royal Commission Wins First Place in "Waei" Award
Al Rowad Secondary School, one of the schools of the Educational Services Dept. at the Royal Commission in Jubail, achieved 1st place in "Waei" Award at the level of GCC countries in a "Waei" Awards ceremony held in Riyadh.
 
The award aims to encourage individuals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all (GCC) citizens to create content that promotes awareness in the field of health through a short film, Motion Graphics, Photography, Info Graphic Design, and Snap Chat clips to motivate the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle to reduce  diseases and increase activity and occupational production.
 
The award included a variety of topics that can be exploited by all segments of society to participate in health awareness. These topics included healthy lifestyle, mental and neurological health, women's health, children's health, elderly health, first aid, a segment entitled "your choice" and different other topics that gives participants freedom of choice in the topic of participation.
 
The Minister of Health Tawfiq Al-Rabiah mentioned via his Twitter account  that "Waei" Award was held at the level of the Kingdom last year and then expanded to include all GCC countries this year. He also expressed his ambition to promote the award into being one of the largest health awareness awards in the world. The is one of the Ministry of Health's initiatives aimed at the community.
 
On his part, Mr. Al-Harbi, Principal of Al-Rowwad Secondary School said: “It is very beautiful for creative minds and talented individuals to meet and produce creations that are recognized and for this creation to come at the top among its peers,". He, also, added: "The school contributed in "Waei" Award, which is  one of the initiatives of Health Ministry, through a film aimed at raising awareness of the school community and its role in the detection of obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms and how to deal with individuals with this disorder.
 
He pointed out that the film was made at the "smart" school, in the media center (Al-Rowwad Media) as the filming, editing and direction of the film was made by a pioneering, creative and outstanding team consisting of a number of students working under the supervision of their teacher. The team have developed a plan of action and specific tasks since the announcement of the competition until the nomination for the final stage, which ended in achieving first place at the level of the GCC countries."
It is worth mentioning that a course has been added for the participation of the schools in Saudi Arabia in order to motivate teachers and students to compete in creating a healthy school environment.
