Under the patronage of H.H. Prince Saud Bin Abdullah Bin Thenayan Al-Saud, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the Royal Commission in Jubail organizes Jubail Cyber Security Conference with the participation of more than 78 agencies and companies during the period 1-2 May 2017, at the Cultural Center in Jubail.
26 specialized speakers from inside and outside the Kingdom shall address the conference with the attendance of 350 persons interested in technology.
The Information Security Conference aims to gather several industrial sectors and international experts to discuss Cyber Security challenges, regional trends associated with Cyber Space and how to protect the services and infrastructure of the Kingdom in general and Jubail Industrial City in particular.
Dr. Basel Al-Omair , Director National Center for Cyber Security Technology at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), shall be the keynote speaker.
Mr. Sultan A. Alfdly, chairman of the organizing committee, Director of the IT Department in the RCJ, stated that the conference comes in an important time as more agencies and ministries daily adopt the electronic services as their official platforms for the internal and external processes and transactions. In addition to the enormous development in the Technical side which is based essentially on interdependence and information sharing”.
MR. Alfdly also pointed out that it is imperative for specialists to come up with effective solutions due to the recent increase of external Cyber-attacks from the Country’s enemies aiming to destroy and disrupt businesses which may affect the development and economic process.
MR. Alfadly also added “From this stand point, RCJ & Y represented by RCJ was keen to organize this conference and invite a large select of elite specialists and academics in the field to propose any solutions, worksheets and presentations that help raising awareness and education level about the issue. The conference is accompanied with an exhibition at which major international specialized companies in Cyber Security may display their experiences and new products. Workshops and discussion sessions will also be held during the conference to discuss the challenges and risks encountered by the industrial sector.
The conference shall address some issues that cover cyber defense against attacks, Government Agencies strategies of Cyber Space Assurance, Industrial Control Systems and accelerating cyber education and career paths.
