According to the annual festivals calendar for 1438-2017 Jubail residents are currently celebrating the kick-off of the first cultural festival. The festival, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Information, hosts a variety of cultural events for (6) days at Al-Fanateer Cultural Center and Al-Fanateer Southern Beach in Jubail Industrial City.
The director of Social Services Dept. Mr. Khaled al-Shammari said that the Jubail Cultural Festival shall be a distinctive cultural addition to the city schedule of events and expect to draw great interest from all categories of society. The festival includes three plays titled (eggs, chickens cages and the rejected dreams) in addition to the Fine Arts, photos and painting exhibition together with a course in fine art and painting for Female and male, poetry evening for male and another for female, a course for the theatrical Arts (for men), a course for the successful reporter and Noun al-Jubail children activities. This is beside the cultural street and folklore on Al-Fanateer Southern Beach as well as the story of a pen.
He added, "that RCJ was keen to diversify the social events and enrich it by new topics and ideas to meet growing demand organizing such events in the city". He said that we noticed high turnout at some festivals, so this year we increased the number of peoples' heritage festival days to 16 days. The RC always continues to support the productive families.”
The schedule of activities in Jubail Industrial city includes five recreational festivals and sports. The first one “Sports for all” was already held during Jumada I. Jubail Cultural Festival shall be held during the period 25-1 Rajab AH (29-19 April) while the peoples' Heritage Festival shall be held during the period 2-17 Rajab (30-14 April at King Abdullah Cultural Center. Ramadan nights of goodness due to be held at Al-Fanateer Cultural Center together with the first handicrafts forum. The selection of festivals topics is meant to address and meet the interest of society.
The Royal Commission in Jubail was keen to improve the social activities every year, renew them to avoid repetition and enter into a partnership with the private sector and related entities, organizations to enrich the activities and festivals events in this year.
