In continuation of a series of successes and previous medical accreditation, the laboratory of the Royal Commission in Jubail obtains US accreditation certificate from the American College of pathology (CAP) after passing the requirements that qualified it to get the accreditation.
The American College of pathology is considered one of the most important accreditation institutions for medical laboratories in the world as it is the largest association in the world and consists of pathology physicians and certified as leading association in the field of quality assurance of medical laboratories in the world.
The laboratory of Royal Commission Hospital in Jubail is the first one to get this accreditation in Jubail. Adding this achievement to series of medical achievements which was achieved by the hospital recently.
Mr. Mohammed Sanad Al shammary, Director of Health Services Program said that all serious medical laboratories are seeking the accreditation of American College. This achievement is achieved after extensive work during the last period, supervised by specialized team consisting of all section of the hospital.
Al shammary explained that the laboratory’s approval by the American College of Pathology means that the hospital is committing to provide the highest standards of laboratory services to all patients.
Al shammary added: “this achievement is the result of the team’s effort and perseverance. The laboratory department succeeded in passing the requirements for obtaining this international accreditation through the development of administrative work, quality control, performance improvement in addition of providing medical and safety equipment along with the other requirements of the accreditation.
It is worth mentioning that the Health Services Program has recently achieved international recognition by the Joint International Committee for Health Institutions Accreditation.
