The Royal Commission represented by Social Services Department in collaboration with the Geeky Valley hosted NASA Space Apps Challenge (Hackathon) for two (2) days at the Sea Club in Jubail Industrial City, during the period 18-20 October.
The technical teams, scientists, designers, teachers, entrepreneurs, developers and student around the world had collaborated and participated, using publicly available data, to design innovative solutions for the international challenges in order to create cooperation for problem-solving. They aim to produce relevant open-source solutions to proceed with the space exploration missions and to improve life on Earth.
It is noteworthy to note that Saudi Arabia is participating with 125 cities around the world including 7 Saudi cities; Jeddah, Riyadh, Jubail, Dammam, Makkah, Tabuk and Madinah in NASA challenge. The competition is held for the second time in Jubail city and is open to innovators both men and women aged 18 and above.
