The Education Services Dept. of the Royal Commission in Jubail conducted the competition "Life is a Gift" under the slogan "Leave a Beautiful Impact" during the first semester of the current academic year to develop social responsibility and promote voluntary work in the society through a number of Islamic principles and morals related to giving, cooperation, and directing behavior towards positivity.
The competition was divided into three parts (teachers, students and families), where the number of works exceeded (100) voluntary work for students, and (32) voluntary work for teachers, in addition to the participation of (132) families, in which more than (100) training courses were presented for students in the field of volunteering.
The voluntary works carried out in the competition varied to include different aspects, such as cleaning campaigns in public places, visiting patients and the elderly people, taking care of mosques, providing recreational programs and gifts for people with special needs, improving recitation for non-Arabic speakers, preserving food, and other works. Moreover, the competition witnessed the community interaction in Jubail Industrial City through participating in voluntary works and broadcasting the events in the social networks in conjunction with the International Volunteer Day , corresponding to the 5th of December each year.
This contest comes as a belief that volunteerism is a vital part of the human life to participate effectively in community development and to achieve the vision of Saudi Arabia 2030 in order to reach one million volunteers in the non-profit sector annually.
