Mexican business magnate, investor and philantrophist Carlos Slim Helu along with Mexican trade delegation recently visited Saudi Arabia for the first time and intends to invest in petrochemical projects and manufacturing plants in Jubail Industrial City.
Mexican trade delegation, also with the presence of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Mexico, Hussein Al- Asiri was received by HE Dr. Mosleh H. Al-Otaibi, CEO of Royal Commission in Jubail together with a number of RC senior officials here.
During the delegation’s exhibition tour inside the Visitor Center, they were briefed on the significant role played by the Royal Commission in providing the infrastructures aimed at attracting more foreign investors through the provision of various services that made Jubail Industrial City a cornerstone when it comes to petrochemical and manufacturing industrial spot in the Kingdom, and the continuous construction booming happening in Jubail and laid the city’s future development plans.
Billionaire Slim as they toured around Jubail was accompanied by his fellow Mexican investors who stressed their willingness to invest in major projects in Jubail and Ras Al-Khair Industrial cities.
Ambassador Asiri said that Slim’s visit was also part of a special program aimed at developing commercial and trade relations between Mexico and Saudi Arabia. He also relayed Carlos Slim admiration for the achievements made by the Kingdom in the development of industrial cities which conveyed a positive image, thereby encouraging his fellow Mexican businessmen and investors to come and visit Saudi Arabia and look for opportunities for trade and industrial cooperation.
