Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan Al-Saud, signed on Tuesday at his office in Jubail Industrial City two (2) contracts worth over SR300 million to develop infrastructure of Mardooma Quarter and for implementation of engineering services for energy and telecommunications.
The first contract, won by Al Harbi Trading and Contracting Co., includes developing an area of land estimated to 500 hectares in Mardoma Quarter. The work involves the following provisions: Roads (including lighting, traffic signal) and water drainage and waste water (including lift stations), drinking water and wastewater treatment and power medium voltage 13.8 kV voltage, telecommunications and water transmission line to Highway No. 4 over the Almtarvet District along the route No. 3 up to the area of Drinking Water Tank.
The scope of work also includes new pumping station for irrigation, construction of new communication building, and provision of main building for the reception and distribution of television over Internet Protocol. The project is expected to be completed within 26 months.
The second contract, won by the Egyptian Group (EGEC) and partner for Engineering consultation in cooperation with Lamayer International Co. (GMPH), includes the implementation of planning, design and complete engineering services for high-voltage electrical substations, overhead lines and cables buried under the earth’s surface, including the power distribution networks and telecommunications in the industrial city of Ras Al-Khair.
The work includes providing complete engineering services for the preparation of primary and secondary infrastructure for the development of industrial area, parks and coastline. Work also includes changes and/or additions to existing facilities and implementing studies and preparing reports on specific problems and issues of engineering and preparation of tender documents for construction works, including engineering services in support of construction activities in the industrial city of Ras Al-Khair.
