Four Sessions on Landscape Architecture during the 16th Gardens and Plants Festival Kickoff in Jubail Industrial City
The 16th Gardens and Plants Festival was inaugurated by the CEO of the Royal Commission in Jubail Dr. Mosleh H. Al-Otaibi, on Wednesday, 19/04/1435H (19.02.2014), under the slogan ''Jubail; Destination of a Nation". The festival will last for ten days, with 45 participating companies and corporations specialized in the fields of garden design, agriculture, and accessories, plant nurseries, aquariums, lighting and accessories. Participants include a number of the government agencies, and several Gulf States including, Qatar, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates which is represented by the Emirate of Ajman.
 
The activities of the first day of the Festival, included the Landscape Architecture and Landscape Day Forum, hosting a number of specialists and experts in the environmental, urban and architectural design. The work papers discussed the latest methods and developments in the field of landscaping in modern cities. Four main sessions, were held by the forum, the first of which focused on the exemplary professional practices in landscape architecture, and was moderated by Dr. Mohammad A. Al-Masaud to define the concept of the professional practices in landscape architecture.
 
The second session, which was moderated by Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahrani, discussed the importance of city landscaping, and how to shape the urban environment structure.
 
The third session discussed the lessons learned from municipalities experiences. In that session the municipalities of Manama and Ajman have provided the best of their experience in landscaping and irrigation and the lessons learned in handling the significant and common issues in this field as well as the practical solutions and related applications.
 
The fourth session focused on the individual achievements, where a member of specialists present their personal experiences in practicing the profession of landscape architecture in the Kingdom, to push forward the new specialists towards excellence in their practice.
