Prior to observance of the holy month of Ramadan, Royal Commission in Jubail, under the auspices of the Acting GM of Public Services, Engr. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Harkan, in cooperation of Property Management Department, commenced on Monday, August 9, 2010, the opening ceremony of the 6th Palm Tree and Dates Bazaar at the Multi-Purpose Hall in Cultural Center, Al-Fanateer, which intended to run up to four (4) days.
Engr. Al-Harkan during the inauguration expressed his appreciation to all the shop owners participated in the exhibition, while the participants gladly welcomed the idea of setting-up a bazaar which according to them further promotes the importance of dates products, particularly to visitors or buyers who are not familiar with dates, its descriptions and varieties, and especially its significance while observing the holy month of Ramadan. They also praised the idea of bringing together under one roof a number of dates shops offering different kinds of dates at a competitive price and at a place accessible to all the residents.
According to the organizing committee setting-up this kind of bazaar beforehand will help the residents save up time rushing through the various dates stores in other areas while at the same can escape the exaggerated price increase in other stalls especially on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
Participants, on the other hand, pronounced their optimism as it is according to them offers great opportunity to be introduced in the market sector, especially since they need a suitable location to advertise their products, in time before the Ramadan season, where shop owners received a lot of demands, thus, offered gratefulness to the Royal Commission for this well-planned and organized event.
